Outliner hierarchy in SketchUp
- [Instructor] Many SketchUp users find it helpful to organize their models by naming everything and creating a hierarchy. To assist with this, you can use the Outliner panel. Windows users, you will find the Outliner in the Default Tray on the right. If you don't see it listed, you may need to add the panel under Window, Default Tray, Outliner. On a Mac, you can use the Window dropdown menu and look for Outliner. In this model, we can see that there are already some objects that are named and other objects that just simply say, "Group." You can click on each of them to select the groups or components. You can also hide them by using the eyeball icon. This is slightly different than the Tags panel. This actually hides the object. And to bring it back, we either need to go to Edit, Unhide, All, or come back to the Outliner window and recheck the eyeball icon. I can also double-click on these titles to edit the groups.
