Getting started in Clipchamp
Hi. In this lesson, we're going to introduce you to Clipchamp. Clipchamp, which you see before you here, is a multi-featured video editor. And when you look at this, you can see you have your media up on the left. We have different layers in our timeline. We have music, we have narration, we have stills, we have video clips, we have overlays, lots of different things. Great features here that we can use to produce polished videos for your business. It can be used to capture screen recordings like this for a training video. Use it for webcam recordings. You can record yourself on a Zoom call, on Teams call, whatever you want. You have that ability. You can also go ahead and put both videos together, your screen capture and your webcam like this and create a picture-in-picture video. There are lots of fun things that you can do with Clipchamp, but not all Clipchamp versions are the same. And let's talk about those Clipchamp versions. There are five different Clipchamp versions. You have three personal versions, a personal version that is free, you have the personal Microsoft 365 version that is with a Microsoft 365 personal or family account, and you have a personal premium version as well. Again, you have to use your Microsoft Personal 365 account. Both of these are a subscription and there is a price associated with it. The last two are Microsoft 365 versions, subscription versions, and they are work or school versions of Microsoft 365, and you have the standard and premium version. And again, these have a cost attached to them. And there is also a web version of each of these, depending on which paid or free subscription you have. Let's take a look at some of the differences. The personal versions do not include a brand kit, any premium assets, or live webcam capture. Those things are reserved for the premium version. But the personal versions all come with templates, the ability to do text-to-speech, subtitle generation, and the AI Auto Compose feature. Now, let's take a look at the work and school versions, standard and premium. They both come with the brand kit, premium assets, live webcam capture, text-to-speech, and subtitle configuration along with many other features. But, hardly enough, they do not come with templates or the AI Auto Compose feature. So believe it or not, the premium version does have some limitations. Clipchamp is a very robust video editor, and throughout this course, I'm going to show you lots of really great things that you can do with it. Throughout the course, we'll be using the Microsoft 365 work or school, premium subscription to Clipchamp. So we will see all of the features that are available. So now you know a little bit more about Clipchamp. That's it for this lesson. Thanks for listening, and I'll see you next time.
