Monitor for new vulnerabilities and threats that could affect operating systems. Use vulnerability scanning tools, and scheduled vulnerability assessments. Prioritize critical updates. Focus on applying critical updates and patches for the highest severity vulnerabilities. So for example, ones that have higher CVSS scores.
