- In this lesson, we're going to explore PKI, public key infrastructure, which is really based on what we call a trusted introducer, which, in this example here, is our certificate authority. This is actually built on the Web of trust concept that I think came from PGP with Philip Zimmerman. So the trusted introducer in this particular scenario is our certificate authority. It can be a public CA, which would be something like, you know, VeriSign, Entrust, GeoTrust, Symantec, GoDaddy, and or it could be enterprise PKI, which could be Microsoft Windows 2019, 2022, Red Hat Enterprise, those are all very popular solutions. Now, in this particular scenario, I want you to remember that PKI has two main goals, okay? The first main goal is you want to have a scalable and secure way, scalable and secure way to distribute public keys, to share public keys with as many participants as possible so you can engage in transactions using your web browser.
