- In this web safari, we're going to look at the defacto standard from MITRE at protecting specialty systems, embedded systems, and system on a chip. And that would be MITRE EMB3D, which is a threat model for embedded devices. We can use this in our SCADA critical infrastructure. We can use it with IoT, in the automotive industry, in the healthcare industry, and manufacturing and distribution as part of the supply chain. This threat model is intended to be a resource to help a wide variety of different participants, vendors, asset owners and operators or controllers, testing organizations and security researchers to improve the overall security of embedded devices, hardware, firmware, and software. So this is a central repository of information about known threats to embedded devices and their unique device features and properties. So we can see in the diagram here, the different application software properties would be the runtime state, the app or application logic, web servers…
