Setting up a Glacier vault lab
- In order to create your own Glacier vaults, you have to go into the Glacier Management Console. Now, to use Glacier, remember, you can do it by just having an S3 bucket, setting up a lifecycle, telling it to move it into Glacier. But if you want to have your own vaults that you manage directly so that you can archive data that you have elsewhere, either outside of the cloud or within some other virtual private cloud in AWS, in some instance in AWS, whatever it happens to be, if you want to manually put stuff in Glacier, you've got to go create your own vaults. So let's take a look at how we do that. It begins, of course, with the AWS Services Interface, where we see all of our services, and then under Storage, we simply choose Glacier.
