• On AGWG call this week, REVIEW - WCAG 2 proposed changes (due by June 3) were highlighted. We already have sufficient Thumbs Up on most of these, and no Thumbs Down. Items are listed below but were not discussed on the call.
• Per agenda email, we have caught up on Ready for Approval so we are looking for easy wins tomorrow, to build up a set of seven or eight changes for sending out right after the call. Otherwise, using our standing agenda.

Short discussion on new issues generated by WCAG2ICT work, Concern for use of "must" in notes. #4432. Concurrence on call that no change is needed in context of WCAG 2.x and changed to Response Only. Discussed on backlog call 6/6 and TF concurrence not to make a change. TF might revisit after WCAG2ICT is republished. Moved to Ready for Approval.

Briefly discussed that Tweak understanding for 1.2.3 and 1.2.5 #1790 conversation thread has gotten too lengthy to forward to AG without some cleanup. Expectation is that issues address will be covered by other PRs. Much appreciate to Ken for catching extraneous files touched by this PR, which Ken Left in For Discussion for now.

Short discussion on new Audio description failure technique #4390 F113. Mike will incorporate recent suggestions and moved Ready for Approval.

Briefly discussed Add note to 1.3.5 Identify Input Purpose about "input" not just meaning HTML input element #4384 adding explanation. For AG review, check that option for ignoring white space. Moved to Ready for review.

Briefly discussed Editorial: "Web" to "web", "Success criteria" to "success criteria" #4428 which is stylistic changes only. PR staying in Drafted pending removal of two out of scope files, and check that if there are any files TR space documents which would need to be a separate PR.

Briefly discussed Replace archaic-looking "e-mail" with "email" #4385 which is also minor stylistic editorial. Conversation prompted reminder to check in with Shawna on EO style guide. Staying in Drafted for now, but can move to Ready for Approval once someone hears back from EO.

Briefly discussed Replace mentions of "WCAG 2.0" with "WCAG 2" #4387 which is another minor editorial, changing "WCAG 2.0" mentions to just "WCAG 2" per current practice. Stays in Drafted pending at least one more TF member close review, but otherwise Ready for Approval

Discussed Correct F99 - keyCode is not an attribute #4374 which is a bit nuanced, because the focus of F99 is out-of-date practices for keyboard event handlers. Regardless of any deprecation, the failures needs to have source code correct. After discussion we had agreement to move to Ready for Approval once the three contributors were in concurrence.

We skipped over Tweak C39 and add new matching SCR40 #4404, but it is a good candidate for TF member review this week.

Discussed Suggested additional note for focus-not-obscured (AAA) #4403 which adds previously approved note to AAA version of SC. On call, Dan caught one line that needed a double check which was fixed. Moved to Ready for Approval.

Briefly discussed Update broken links at Understanding of SC 2.4.2 (Page Titled) #1025. Build error needs to be resolved. Left in Drafted.

Briefly discussed Add note on synchronized media in audio description definition #4371 which has the subject of previous call. Proposed edit is in response to question raised in GitHub thread, but the additional note feels too long for the work it is doing. Mike may move detail into Understanding with an example. Kept in Drafted.

Briefly discussed Removed 1.2.7 reference from note 1 #4325 which was subject to in previous calls. We agreed to close since the PR got a couple Thumbs Down following review by AG.

Discussed Add note about logo/logotypes contrast to 1.4.3, 1.4.6, and 1.4.11 understanding #4402 and tension between exception for logotypes and contrast requirement for all actionable UIC. Alastair suggests adding something like "for example, adding a border to button featuring a logo". Left in Drafted.

Briefly discussed Chore: Remove invalid closing and , self-closing slashes, xml:lang and xmlns #4386. Ken affirmed that TR space files were removed from this PR, so it is Ready for Approval.

Briefly discussed Add new errata to both 2.1 and 2.2 #4370 which is not controversial and something we have discussed before. The only hold up is that we want a clean PR building upon Update errata/21.html for previous publications #4424 which is still a bit of a work-in-progress. Left in Drafted.

Discussed Audio description failure technique #4390. Mike highlighted a new (helpful and uncontroversial) addition. Bruce had concern that "appropriate pauses in dialog" was a bit ambiguous. On call, we used Ken's suggestion and changed that bit to "check for pauses in dialog where it would be appropriate to add audio description". Patrick suggested making the second check start with "if not then" so that check is more straightforward. Mike plans to make these non-controversial edits to test procedure and move to Ready for Approval.

Ken is planning for some additional checks on builds, namely for TR space files. Francis suggests adding to that a scan for broken links.

We also had a conversation that, unfortunately, that it is easy to satisfy the question-asker and create more questions for other people.

Mike coordinating with Shawna with regard to updating style guide, most specifically that words like web and success criteria should not generally be capitalized.
