Agenda and Announcements

For Discussion

Group discussed Audio description failure technique #4390. Mike highlighted a new (helpful and uncontroversial) addition. Bruce had concern that "appropriate pauses in dialog" was a bit ambiguous. On call, we used Ken's suggestion and changed that bit to "check for pauses in dialog where it would be appropriate to add audio description". Patrick suggested making the second check start with "if not then" so that check is more straightforward. Mike will either make what he thinks is non-controversial change to test procedure and move to Ready for Approval or keep in For Discussion.

Drafted

We discussed Update synchronized-media.html #4371 which adds a note to synchronized media in glossary. Need for this bit of clarification demonstrated by (linked) issues raised regarding AD and request for clarification on synchronized media. Moved to Ready for approval.

Mike refreshed group about Removed 1.2.7 reference from note 1 #4325 , the rational for the edit, and thread discussion since 4325 was discussed on a call. We had agreement in the meeting but are hoping for more feedback from people giving a Thumbs Down. Remains as Drafted for now.

We discussed Restore SCR21, marked as obsolete #4411 approved by group previously. Today we just focused on tweaking the formatting of message in the obsolete box. On call, we agreed it was better not to have the hyperlink to GitHub Issuse, and settled on explanation of "This technique has been retired, as it has no impact on accessibility." Moved to Ready for Review.

Discussed Chore: Remove invalid closing and , self-closing slashes, xml:lang and xmlns #4386. Approval for current working folders, but do not want to touch WCAG 2.0 doc or two other TR space note which are not clearly in our purview. Ken made the change and moved to Ready for Approval.

Discussed Add note about logo/logotypes contrast to 1.4.3, 1.4.6, and 1.4.11 understanding #4402 which has had some updates, include suggestions from Alastair, since previous conversation. Patrick asks for additional input from TF members.

Discussed Add note about transaction-amount to 1.3.5 understanding #4362. Patrick has revisited, but we are still left with the problem that the issue cannot be resolved by a note to understanding. TF members on the call agreed. Patrick will try and write up the dilemma with a little more detail. Remains in Drafted for now, but expect to move to For Discussion.
