#SydneyToday. Atlassian Central – set to become one of the world’s TALLEST hybrid timber commercial building and the new Australian HQ for Atlassian. ✔️
Atlassian Central, co-owned by Atlassian and Dexus, is located adjacent to Sydney’s Central Station and is the anchor of the NSW Government’s new Tech Central precinct.
Designed by SHoP Architects and BVN, Atlassian Central will be a 39 level Premium grade tower with a mix of commercial, retail, and accommodation space, including new YHA accommodation.
The world-class sustainable design combines an impressive hybrid-timber structure, surrounded by a steel exoskeleton supporting a glass façade, with the heritage-listed Parcel Shed will be adaptively re-used and integrated into the tower.
Atlassian Central is leading the way in sustainable initiatives, including: 50% reduction in upfront embodied carbon in construction for substructure, superstructure, and facades, compared to a conventionally constructed building. On completion the tower will operate on 100% renewable energy.
Built, in joint venture with Obayashi Corporation, is the main contractor and the project is due for completion in 2026.
