I will make this suggestion at the telecon tomorrow morning but incase
some of you will already be leaving for flights, i thought i would also
make it in email.
I expect that there is a reasonable overlap between webont members and
attendees of kr2002 in france. the program is available at:
http://www.irit.fr/kr02/program.html
I suggest a lunch for webont people interested in following up on the
language issues during the lunch break on the first day -- april 22
12:30 - 2:30.
Also, this is just a confirmation that local arrangements are underway
for the next webont f2f.
scheduled for july 1-2 at Stanford, co-hosted by myself from Stanford
and Jonathan Dale from Fujitsu.
If anyone wants to get a start on lodging reservations, hotel
information is available from:
http://www.stanford.edu/dept/hds/chs/general/hotel.html.
We will have people make their own reservations.
If people are wanting to stay at the same hotel for purposes of
carpooling, I suggest
- the sheraton for people who want nice and close (this is a major
chain)
(the garden court hotel for people who want nice and luxurious and
for those who like to have some character in their hotels)
- the travelodge for those who want more affordable lodging (this also
is a hotel chain and is safe and clean but boring). - super 8 is very
similar and close to the travelodge incase it books up
- also, for those who like B&Bs, cowper inn is great but it books up
quickly.
just a note - july 4 is a national holiday in the US so some hotels may
book up since this is a holiday week.
